The filter should be installed in conjunction with a cation exchange water softener, as the Pre-Filtration system to the water softener on city waters that contain chlorine and/or chloramines. High levels of chlorine and chloramines will ruin the resin in a cation exchange water softener.

Refiner 48 System Flow Rate:


3 GPM to 6 GPM is the optimal flow for best reduction & contact time. Higher flow rates can run through the system on peak flow rates with less contact time & less reduction. Reduction is dependent on specific raw water quality. (Control Valve Rating: 27 GPM)

Refiner 70 System Flow Rate:


4 GPM to 8 GPM is the optimal flow for best reduction & contact time. Higher flow rates can run through the system on peak flow rates with less contact time & less reduction. Reduction is dependent on specific raw water quality. (Control Valve Rating: 27 GPM)

Refiner 90 System Flow Rate:


5 GPM to 10 GPM is the optimal flow for best reduction & contact time. Higher flow rates can run through the system on peak flow rates with less contact time & less reduction. Reduction is dependent on specific raw water quality. (Control Valve Rating: 34 GPM)

Whole Home reduction of Chlorine & Chloramines on city water systems.


To be used alongside a water softener that is installed on a city municipal water supply with Chlorine & or Chloramines in the city water, Can also to be used as a stand-alone filter system without a water softener.


These filters will prolong the life of your water softener resins- as long as they are properly maintained with the carbon media being replaced on a regular schedule. Designed to reduce the HIGH levels of Chlorine & Chloramines in the city water supply, before entering your water softener.


High levels of Chlorine & Chloramines will drastically reduce the life of your water softening resin & rubber components on all fixtures in your home. Carbon also reduces organics that can cause unpleasant tastes and smells in the water.


The Media is a combination of Coconut Shell Carbon & Catalytic Coconut Shell Carbon, & KDF-55 medias. Average of 2-10 year Carbon life, depending on raw water Chlorine & Chloramine levels and usage of the filter and filter size.


(Life expectancy calculated based off of size of filter and raw chlorine and chloramine levels in the water = expected total gallons of treated water/ life of the carbon filter media.)
